Having your piano tuned regularly is the best way to maintain its quality and value. Tuning a piano is an art as well as a science, and no two pianos are exactly alike. Each has its own unique tonal qualities. You deserve to hear your piano at its full potential, and your piano will thank you in the long run by providing you with decades of enjoyment!

What Is Included In A Standard Tuning Service?
Each piano is inspected before the tuning begins. The pedals are checked and adjusted. Pinblock bolts are checked and tightened. For those who have benches, the bench screws will be tightened as well. The owner of the piano will be informed if there are any repairs that need to be made before the piano can be tuned.
The keytops are cleaned with a non-toxic cleaning solution that breaks down grime. It also helps to condition and brighten the keys. A high-quality microfiber cloth is used for maximum bacteria and virus absorption.
The piano will be tuned to any pitch that you desire, although A-440 is recommended, which is the internationally recognized standard pitch.

How Long Does A Tuning Take?
It depends on the piano. Pianos that haven't been serviced in a long time (5 years or more) may require a remedial "pitch raise", and some cleaning or repairs. This first visit then becomes a 'rough' tuning that allows the strings to stretch out. An additional appointment may be needed in order to obtain a stable, fine-tuning.
While your first appointment may take a little longer (depending on the piano's service history), a routine tuning will take about an hour and a half.
